I think residents should be allowed to have hens . No noise, fun to have, not smelly, good eggs.

Plenty of neighboring communities allow small chicken coops. Please update the ordinance to allow them in our city.

With reasonable regulations regarding how many chickens a person could keep within the city limits, I can't think of any reason why our city government should deny residents the right to own chickens. Many cities allow urban chickens, including communities like Oregon and Madison.

About 10 years ago, there was some discussion about homeowners having backyard chicken, but there were also many misconceptions, which is why it did not go anywhere. I am glad to see the discussion returning.

I have owned chickens for many years. They are a delightful, easy way of introducing and educating folks (especially kids!) to sustainable food systems and animal husbandry. There are , many, many models for setting guidelines- if we can accommodate for dogs and cats, we can accommodate for chickens.

I would greatly enjoy having chickens in my yard to supply fresh, chemical free eggs for my family. It would also be a means to show my children care of farm animals, where food comes from, and responsibilities. Thank you for your time.

Seems very "behind the times" not to already have this in place.
