Way too many houses for this area. The roads can not handle the traffic and the schools will not be able to handle all those children. it puts the area at risk for rezoning out of Rockwood. house sales have already been overwhelmed in this area due to McBride builds we certainly don't need another massive housing area to impact the area negatively.

The traffic on 109 is horrendous now, it sometimes takes me 30 minutes to get from the light at PNC Bank to FF. If you add another 504 homes you will need to find a different access or build another bridge with additional lanes and God help us when Brookdale Farms has anything. Why not develope Allenton with homes and retail.

The proposed housing density is too high.

This represents poor planning. A floor lane highway and a large round about would be needed. If you include the flood zone are in the density calculation then a law suite could result and would be expensive for everyone.

Terrible idea. Stop making the town any bigger than it already is, this would be a terrible place to build homes anyway.

The last thing this town needs right now is more homes, we need retail and commercial space.

This new project is a horrible idea. By 7 o'clock in the morning 109 intersection is already jam packed and by 3:30 pm the traffic is backed up past the narrows. There are already two other subdivisions being created in eureka and only ONE new elementary school being made. That school was meant to catch the overflow from the other three elementary schools. Now even if just half of the houses from all these subdivisions have just one kid we will end up with another over crowded elementary school. Lastly a quote from the "Master Plan" for the subdivision , "To encourage the conservation of existing natural resources and maintain the character of the County". This is the number 5 objective of the development plan. By adding 549 houses or anywhere near that number they will be taking away from the county. They will take away the scenic views, natural resources, and the character of our cute county. If anyone has ever read the children's book "This Little House" the story perfectly captures what is going to happen to Eureka. The basic story is that a cute little house alone in the country is slowly taken over by a gigantic city. It becomes a broken down house squished in between buildings of a polluted and overpopulated city. luckily its owners come back and get it and take it back to the country and the little house is happy again. If we were to allow all these houses to be built there will be no more cute little country side it will just be a city. I encourage anyone and everyone to sign this petition and help out our quaint county.

The area is already overburdened with traffic and road conditions cannot safely absorb this influx. It will create hazardous situations in an area not suited for high density populations.

The roads are not built for the traffic that this new development would bring, nor is the entire city of Eureka. Traffic is already backed up to The Legends. With this new development, the 44/109 intersection would be impacted along with interstate 44. The entire infrastructure would need to be updated to support a development like this. Additionally, this development would ruin the rural nature of the scenic 109/FF intersection and along FF. The development I'd also for a flood plain.

The current zoning needs to remain in place, The reason we choose to build in this area was the large lot zoning. This will negatively impact the area in multiple ways. There is no space in our already overcrowded schools for the additional families this would draw. This area will likely be zoned out of Rockwood if that development is built. The intersection of 109 and FF is already overtaxed, the entrance to the proposed development on a bad curve in the road--there are multiple accidents there already as many people take that curve too fast. The additional traffic is only going to create a worse problem. And the traffic backup in the evening is already bad enough--most nights it is all the way into Eureka, Can you imagine how bad it is going to be with an additional 1000 cars everyday?? There is no easy alternate route to ease this problem. We came to this area to get away from the subdivisions that have people packed in like sardines. There is also the additional strain on the Jefferson Co. Police who are based nowhere near this area. I can tell you from experience that Eureka police will NOT cross the river to assist us.

Why? Taking an already dangerous road and making it 10x more treacherous, destroying the beauty and peace of a beautiful small town, crippling infrastructure, erosion, environmental overload, traffic overload...I could go on

Already too much traffic congestion in this area. I am also worried about the impact of school rezoning.

Opposed to this development for 3 reasons -
1) 109S can't support the added traffic and congestion without both lanes being doubled to handle the additional traffic for a 549 lot development.
2) public schools are overcrowded already. Where are the children going to school at?
3) the T intersection at 109S is outdated and needs to be made in to a round about. Is MoDOT going to authorize this work?

It would be irresponsible of the Jefferson County P&Z board to allow this requested zoning change.
