Traffic is already a nightmare and adding 500 homes will be awful. A roundabout/stoplight will not help enough to make this a good situation.

Not to mention the traffic issues everyone has commented about, this type of development is completely out of character for this area.

This will make a traffic nightmare for those living in eureka who enjoy the peaceful simple town.

I live in the Mirasol (not my choice), and I spend a lot of time sitting on 109. It's backed up even after 6pm. Isn't there already enough subdivisions in such a small radius?

Th intersection at 109 and I44 is already one of the worst in the state. This needs to be addressed along with widening 109 before more homes are built.

This area is already over congested with traffic on a daily basis. It is ridiculously busy everyday. This would be a major setback adding all these houses. It already takes over a half an hour to go 1 mile on 109 & W every day this would make it 3 times as bad as it already is and very unsafe for the fire and Police Departments.

This will crowd our schools and make traffic terrible. I went to high school at Eureka yet live at the edge of the district on some land to roam, I would hate to see districts redrawn and have people pushed out of the district because they enjoy a bit of land and privacy

They are destroying the beautiful area that my family and I grew up in. Before toi know it FF will beco.ee one huge neighborhood connected together. Its already bad enough with Mirasol being there now with the house being 10 foot apart. What a shame

I moved out here 25 years ago and have watched Eureka's character destroyed by over-development. The proposed development would accomplish the same thing here in Jefferson County. It's time to say NO!

It would also negatively effect the Rockwood school district and nearby schools.

Sandra -- thank you for asking. There are a couple of things one can do right now. First, having as many people attend this Thursday's meeting as possible is very helpful. Second, a formal petition by those within 600 ft of the property ought to be submitted. There are several going around right now -- in Sunrise, Jim Shell, and Mirasol--but we probably could use a few more people to do that who live in those areas. I have copies of that petition that can be used. Third, one might contact their elected representatives on this matter. In JeffCo, this is District 1, represented by Don Bickowski ([email protected]). Since this would also would affect Eureka, the representative of that District might be helpful--District 110, Kirk Matthews ([email protected] ). If you would like a paper copy of a petition, private message me on Facebook and I'll send you one. Thanks again! Erik Herrmann
