Ethel Hedgeman Lyle is very deserving of this honor. Her vision launched a legacy of sisterhood and service for African American women from which all other historically black sororities were born. That vision has expanded to be inclusive of women of various cultures across the globe. Her legacy is indisputable and its impact immeasurable.

Ethel Hedgeman Lyle is an iconic African-American woman because she transcended her time and founded an organization that focused on education, culture and service to others. Quite simply, she gave us something of which to be proud, and it endures. Thank you Soror, Hedgeman.

Ethel Hedgeman Lyle was an amazing woman that has changed so many lives and will continue to do so throughout history. I am proud to say, that I am a financial member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated! We are the 1st Black Greek Sorority, founded in 1908, Ethel was the founder and the purpose was to cultivate and encourage high scholastics and ethical standards.... and to be service to all mankind.
I support this petition 100% along with my organization...
