I request that the founding member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Ms. Ethel Hedgeman Lyle be commemorated on the 2017 US Postage stamp. This would be the 108th anniversary of the first sorority for black college educated woman, who provide community service, scholarship and education to our communities.

I fully support this initiative as Hedgeman Lyle has done so much to support the progression of not only African American women, but women as a whole. She was one of the pioneers of the first sorority for African American women, supported equal rights for women, and define the educational structure.
