As a young Ph.D. researcher, I have experienced at first hand how vital it is the financial and administrative support of the EU, for young scholars from the WB to continue their research abroad. I fully support this initiative and it's success.

The EU needs to fulfill its obligations to the Western Balkans if it will see WB countries fulfill their obligations. Empty words are not needed anymore, but real action.

I fully endorse this petition. The brain drain in the region, and the subsequent loss of valuable research ideas and results, is a hindrance to the development of the Western Balkans.

The funding of this organization is critical to the development of society. One only has to look at the long-term work of the U.S. National Science Foundation and the U.S. National Institutes of Health to see this.
