I fully agree with this initiative and it`s a pity that most of the scholars and researchers deal with a lot of difficulties and struggle to self-finance their research and projects regarding WB integrations and various issues the states of the WB region face while pursuing the EU integration path. To my opinion, a much higher consideration and stimulus (through WBRF) are needed to support their research and projects to have evidence-informed policymaking and all necessary studied conditions where reforms can build up. Researchers that want to see their region prosper and don't give up on this idea through their work are an added value to this tangled region, and they must be supported. Anyhow a transparent merit-based and accessible (for all who want to contribute) process is at the same time needed when it comes to the financing of such initiatives.

This is such an important issue for all our countries. Unfortunately, from friends and colleagues working in and near the Commission and its affiliated projects and plattforms, I know that this is something that is rejected at the higher levels, which is why we won't hear about it anytime soon through official channels. Rather, there will be notorious declarations and pretty words. We need to disseminate this through other channels, more sympathetic to the cause and confront the higher political level with this demand.
