I really thought this might just be a small thing I wrote in a coffee shop but the way people are showing up for Raul is genuinely overwhelming. It feels like the whole world is finally starting to see what I have known all along about the beauty he brought to the parade every single year.

Raul was a wonderful friend and classmate at Santa Fe High School. We are all so very proud of his achievements, which clearly deseve the recognition proposed by this petetioin.
He gave so many years of his heart and love to designing super spectacular floats for the Tournament of Roses Parade. He designed more than 500 floats for the Rose Parade over five decades and won more awards than any other designer in the Rose Parade’s 126-year history. He is truly deserving of this honor.
Our eyes were blessed every year by the stunning work of Raul Rodriguez and it seems fitting that he would be rememembered each year by presenting the sweepstakes trophy in his honoe. After all he won sweepstakes more than any other designer. Or possibly more that all other designers combined.
The Rose Parade was and never will be the same without Rauls Breathtaking designs, Rauls designs made the Rose Parade fun to watch in amazement, he was an amazing artist and his contribution to the New Years Day Parade would be perfectly honored by naming the sweepstakes trophy after him, especially since he did take them home every year.
He is the most winning float designer in Rose Parade history. Absolutely, establish the Raul R. Rodriguez Sweepstakes Trophy. That would be a fitting memorial for my long time friend!

You mean there isn't one yet?? Raul R Rodriguez sweepstakes trophy should of been established long time ago. It needs to happen sooner than later to be given to someone for 2015 Rose Parade.
