This petition is for the City of Monroe, WI to declare a Quiet Zone within the city limits regarding the train. We propose quiet hours to be from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily, at which point the train would not blow the horn at any intersection within the city limits (primarily 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, or 17th Avenues).
There is minimal traffic during night hours in Monroe, yet the train honks loudly at each intersection regardless of what time it is. We need this to change. By establishing a Quiet Zone, as other towns have in Wisconsin, we will be allowing a peaceful night sleep for anyone within the city limits.
This petition will be collecting signatures for the next two weeks (January 17-January 31), at which point the signatures will be printed and presented in person to the City of Monroe for further consideration of our proposal.

We live off of 27th Ave. and the train tracks go through our back yard. It would be nice to not hear the train horn all hours of the night, through early morning anymore! No one enjoys it especially being the mom of a newborn.
It says I'm in Janesville too, however when I go to print the signatures, it only gives our correct zip code. No worries!
No idea why it said I am in Verona
