It is important for student nurses to gain as much practical experience as they can to build their skill level and confidence in mental health.

Many of these students have been denied the right to work as an Employed Student Nurse this year. Very unfortunate news as they are counting on this opportunity to get through this summer and help prepare for graduation. The Ministry of Health is denying the College of Registered Psych Nurses to make a by law change which would allow students to be registered and give them the right to work as a student nurse.

If regular student nurses can be ESN why can't the PSN be one too.

Psychiatric nursing students need more "hands on" experience . This is a very valuable program that will benefit everyone in the long run.

Hands On is basic true training that brings a multitude of assets not only to the student but to prospective employer as well. Please help them help you help the patients.

I have been looking forward to gaining this additional experience and expanding my knowledge and nursing practice. This was a huge disappointment and puts us psychiatric nursing students at a disadvantage. Why should future nurses be denied this experience? This is a service that helps to better the profession and also the lives of others. Changes need to be made and RPN students need to be allowed to work as ESNs.

Every nursing student deserves equal opportunity. We are the future of healthcare and therefore by removing these opportunities for growth and learning, it is ultimately our society that will feel the impact.

Very sad to see how little regard goes into these quick decisions. Snatching this away from these students only harms the students, the field itself and ultimately the clients. This is not okay and needs to be fixed immediatly.
