I had the opportunity to be a ESN & it was in a field I was interested in exploring, something I wanted to see if would be a speciality that was for me. If I hadn't had this chance who knows what experiences I would have missed

As a mentor of perceptor students I ffel this is very short sighted,> I have noticed that the studnets who have done the esn hours come out of schooll more prepared,self confident and are ready to join the nursing work force

I strongly believe that the change in bylaws should not affect the psychiatric student nurses. They should have the opportunity to work as student nurses as they have in the past. There is no need to penalize them while the RNs wait for their bylaw change.

I definitely agree, that Psychiatric student nurses must be given the opportunity as the RN students to able to gain further experience as Employed Student Nurses to become better practitioners.
