I am still honestly stunned by how many of you agree that our students deserve fresh options for lunch. The stories you have shared about the need for healthy choices at school have been so moving to read. This is entirely because of your passion for the health of our local kids.

I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by the momentum behind this request. It is incredible to see how many people believe our students deserve these healthy options. This shift is entirely the result of your belief in the idea.

while the ESM cafetria food choices have come a long way...back in the day a fat NY City syle pretzel was offered as a lunch option..there is still room for improvement. a saald bar is a terrific way to ensure our kids are getting a variety of greens and veggiew every day!
It does not make sense that the high school students should recieve this benefit, but not the Jr. high students.

in this day and age of childhood obesity, sales are something that teach healthy eating, and are also something that can remain untouched by cafeteria cooks that are sometimes less than skilled. In addition, it reduces the consumption of processed foods.
