Electric bike is cost effective, environment friendly & it's a part of green revolution. It should be allowed on roads on separate track.

Just let use them as bicycle and from 18 age up to 30km max speed and 24 age up to 50km max speed and 24 age with motorbike license up to 80 km and that would save too young get on it and 24 age without motorbike license up to 50km what would be same as bicycle speed and 24 age and over ,with motorbike license would be safe to use up to 80 km. This RSA would change law and all good. But what is the reason to let garda work and tage them off where other eu countries just make law change and all done! Just have people in cage and keep them like king. Totally discriminating people to use them as something nice to get around town. Where is this fact, less cars around town? And less pollution? Hi emissions co2 !

Please stop this nonsense! The future is now. This is a law with 50 years! Time to be reviewed.

I would cycle if the commuter trains allow bikes in the trains during peak hours. You dont want to allow bikes in trains, you dont want portable easy pollution free transport for people. All you want is ban things that are making life easy and are environmently friendly. Get practicle, try to get in the commuter train in morning and then get to office 5 km away with the current available public transport.

I have been dying to buy an electric scooter, however due to the harassment I would receive from Garda, I have not gone forward with my wishes

A new, modern form of mobility. Totally makes sense to trial and experiment with it.

Car usage in Dublin needs to be drastically reduced. This can only help alleviate the permanent congestion in city centre.

I think they are already legal. The scooters I know of are not capable of unaided propulsion. You have to skoot first before you get battery assist. But I am signing this petition anyway. If I can't tax it or insure it then it is not an MPV. Either leave them in the same class as "bicycles" if their top speed and ability to climb hills is low. Else tax them as motorbikes. But seizing a bike for not having road tax when no mechanism exists to tax it is NOT a viable option.
