Horses are just as important as other non-motorized trail enjoying methods such as foot traffic and bicycles. Just because they are 'horse power' doesn't make them any less qualified for the trail.

Absolutely absurd, figures they would try this. The trails should be for everyone, there should be no discrimination between 4 legs or 2.

Multiuse suits all taxpayers and unlike the majority of private users many social groups do work partys and do trail maintenance.

Multi use please. Horses are not the problem. In many cases its horse people who have made/maintained these trails up to now.

I've enjoyed many rides on the trail in years past in the okanagan. In all that time I never experienced nor caused one issue. It is unfair to ban horses now.

It is everybody’s right to use the trail, you would be more than upset if you were not ‘allowed ‘ to use anything public. As long as the horse poop is cleaned up by the driver, then there should be no problem.

Dogs are allowed but horses aren't? Very silly! Horses are on the trail with their handlers, they aren't wandering free. Horses are also nothing like motorized vehicles. People love to see cute dogs on the trail just as much as they love to see horse back riders on the trail!

Horses, as with dogs our pets, they deserve a safe place to enjoy scenery, and unlike dogs their manure is 100% plant based, and biodegrades , they aren’t predators so issues such as fights (like dog fights) don’t occur. My horses live 2 minutes away from the trail, and I’m not allowed to access the lake with them by crossing the trail? But I can with my dog? Immature law, made by uneducated people!

Horse riders have worked with all user groups for years to build multi-use trails. Province-wide there are many examples of successful inclusion of horses, walkers, cyclists and sometimes more. We know the hard work of building and maintaining. Trails are important to everyone and we need to figure out how to respectfully share.

we need a safer place to ride away from motorized vehicles-I grew up riding the dykes of Richmond, which was also a lovely walking dyke - respect among EVERYONE was always evident. Enjoying nature by horseback is wonderful, quiet and peaceful & yes cleaner and more environmentally healthier than dog etc poop (& yes I am a dog owner who picks up ALWAYS).
