Seriously? Horses are environmently friendly. Horse poop is made of nearly 100% grass. It disappears within a week. Horses riders do not leave trash behind unlike the walkers and bikers! Ride the damn trail ride it every day until this ban is lifted!

Don’t ban us

It would be a shame to loose the trail for the horses. They should be looking at the possibility of banning the people that ride the trail on their quads or motor related vehicle's.

Share the trail

I would like this reversed as this is setting precedent and creating dangerous situations for horses and riders! Terrible move

The areas for riding are shrinking - what happens when there’s nowhere for folks to ride? I think people are concerned because they don’t know what todo when they come across horses on the trail but that is easily fixed with education....

Horses and buggies were here before everyone else. They deserve just as much access as walkers/ bikes. They generate jobs and employment

I am a taxpayer. I cannot see how horses can be discriminated against..are dogs not allowed?? How about bicycles??? Probably horses are more safe than those.

They have as much right on the trails as everyone else.

Absolutely- perhaps there could be certain times given to horses for the rail trail and bikers could respect that we also need some time to ride along a beautiful trail. Post signs that horses would be on the trail at these times and safety is foremost in protecting everyone from an accident happening. Maximize the spring and fall for allotted times for horses in the mornings or evenings on certain days would give the trail to horseman without the danger of bikers scaring the horses or clearly not understanding safety issues with animals. I feel the same way about dogs- there are so many dog haters out there and think everything is about their right to be dog free as the walk or bike the trails. Give some early mornings to strictly pet owners and horse people and then re open the trail to bikers later during the day and same in evening.

This is a fabulous idea!!

A good idea would be to make this available provided the riders carried horse council bc insurance. That may put others at ease.

Horses have travelled this route for centuries, and we would like to be able to enjoy it as equestrians today as well.

Horses are easily able to share trails like this with the rest of the community. It's a sin to penalize the equine community.

Multi-use trails should be open to equestrians!

Riding horses is no different than jogging or hiking or riding bikes.horse people are friendly and agreeable and always willing to do whatever it takes to get along with hikers, dog walkers, bikers ,ATV's and so on.I would like to know what he concerns are with horses.
