African Americans are being denied proper and equal pain management as our Caucasian peers due to the fact that we are stereotyped as junkies and drug dealers. If we, as African Americans, have documented ailments that leave us in severe pain, why are we not treated just as equally as our peers of other races We need to take a stand! If a doctor specializes in pain management, they should also specialize in knowing when they have a true junkie in front of them versus a patient that is truly in need of relief. Let's break the racial stereotypes that physicians are holding on to when their African American patients suffer from Chronic Pain!
