Restraining order laws are dangerous and unfair to men

How did we let it get this way america. We took the due process away and let women torture good honest men. Its sad.

My ex wife just took everything from me kids, car, home, lost my job over completely false allegations. I have no record what so ever and the wife has a family history of mental illness. At age 35 sadly im living with my parents till i can rebuild. im not allowed to see my daughter but have to pay 900$ a month for child support. she has also convinced my daughter that i dont care about her. women are the abusers.

Close to the sponsors problem. Dated a woman for a year, was great when she was on her meds, not so when she decides to stop. She thinks she is better, meds stop, falls apart, goes back on meds, rinse, and repeat.

I am an older woman who has been victimized by a woman who has weaponized the protective order system against me and will not stop filing false protective orders against me. The system is totally unfair to men but also to women who fall prey to lying, often times mentally ill women. Something needs to be done to, at the very least, insert some due process capability for the accused. No one should be able to take away another's reputation, rights and peace of mind away from them on a whim. I'm all for protecting all people from harm but there needs to be some criteria for filing restraining orders. Even when cases are dismissed, the accuser can go back again and again and continue to haunt their victims and victims have little recourse to stop them aside from spending lots of time and money to obtain authentic justice.

This is so much BS.......Judges get incentives through pensions etc to hand these out. Yes they are given money

I've been a victim of false allegations by a mentally ill woman to gain an advantage in child custody case even though I filed for custody first and the false claim came 2 weeks later. I've been removed from my home, forced to pay child support and haven't been allowed to see our take care of my 2 children. They are the true victims here. There is no due process, evidence or Constitutionality in this process.

Have been unable to see my child for over 4 months over an argument where there was NO physical violence. Currently the court has continued no contact as a condition of probation over again an incident where there was NO physical contact to my girlfriend or daughter. Thank God for American courts and being innocent till proven guilty......

I am only 15 years old and this restraining order against me is useless. I go to the same high school with her and you know girls will be girls they will make up stupid things to get you in trouble. I don't want to go to jail for something I didn't do and no one has proof of

If she gets one she should have to stay away...ive gotten them it feels over and over but the one puts in for an order always contacts the defendent....how is that fair...then if u say one thing or respond ur in jail..

Something needs to change this she say your guilty is out of control

Yes, we need to stop this. It ruins lives and too much help is given to women these days in many ways. I am a woman but still feel this way

A domestic abuse restraining order is a very damaging to many men and their careers, and yet they are handed out luke candy.

I was given a temp restraining order march 19 this year, given 10 min to gather whatever and vacate, it's now July 11 and still have not been able to get anything of importance just crap that my girlfriend has given a 3rd person, I have lived with her 14 yes. Long story short, April 10 court date she called my daughter same day told her she had to say I abused her to get me out immediately that an eviction notice would take too long. My daughter's baby of 3 months got sick night before court. She lives 700 miles away I could have been vindicated. There is so much more but my life has been turned upside down. She needs to pay for her unconsunible act of pure evilness. I have never been in trouble with the law or anything. I'm 65 and loosing everything. I also wear a new jacket, ever hear of CLETS law, I live in Calif and people need to pay the price for their wrongdoing.

Hello-- Is this sight just for belly-aching, bitching, and getting nothing done? You can go on Facebook and do that. I'm looking for an organization, group, or any entity that knows anything about how to prosecute someone who lies and obtains a restraining order against an innocent man. If anyone out there knows where there are professionals addressing these problems please let me know.

Victim of P.O. abuse. Despite overwhelming evidence I had done nothing wrong I was hauled into court and slapped with a two year restraining order. My daughter lied first to a magistrate and then a judge I had no recourse, could do nothing about this lie except comply.

Restraining orders are onesided, worst is that the people that won favor for a RO, have moved outof state, and i can't seem to file a order of termanation, because i do not know where they live

I recently lost my battle and now have a restraining order. My neighbor's boyfriend has been harassing me for months, telling me I need to go back down-under (I'm Australian, but recently obtained my US Citizenship) After he attacked me with a lawnmower he filed a restraining order on me.. He and his girlfriend proceeded to lie to the court and despite the fact I had witnesses and photos of their harassment the judge sided with them. There needs to be something in place so people can be protected from such sick people.

THIS HAPPENED TO MY BROTHER. HE WAS BEING HARRASSED BY NEIGHBORS AND HE HAS TO MOVE AND THEY WERE THE BAD ONES AND TROUBLEMAKERS. BUT BECAUSE T HEY GOT THE RESTRAINING ORDER FIRST..THEY COURT AUTOMATICALLY BELIEVED THEM AND THEY ARE PSYCHOS BELIEVE ME!! NOT FAIR.....AND MY BROTHER WAS LIVING IN THE COMPLEX FOR 9 YEARS WITH NO PROBLEM TILL THOSE NUTS MOVED IN DOWNSTAIRS!!
