I Support MD Attorney General Gansler's Opinion on Out-of-State Marriage Recognition

We, the undersigned, support Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler's official opinion recognizing out-of-state same-sex marriage recognition
We believe, as the Baltimore Sun points out, that this opinion advances the cause of civil marriage rights in Maryland, as the state now must recognize same-sex marriages from other states.
We further believe that this decision is not only a huge victory for the gay and lesbian community of Maryland, but also for the principles of equality, justice and fairness for all.
We commit ourselves to fighting any attempt by Delegate Don Dwyer or his extremist colleagues to roll back our recent gains.
We urge state agencies to review their practices and procedures in order to comply with state law by providing equal protections for couples with valid marriage licenses.
Only civil marriage equality here at home and an end to discrimination at the federal level will provide true equality for all LGBT couples.
We are committed to working with state agencies, as well as to advancing full marriage equality in the Free State.

I just saw we hit two hundred and fifty signatures which is honestly way faster than I imagined when I started typing this out in my kitchen earlier. It feels really good to see this kind of energy for Gansler's opinion because people like Dwyer really think they can just ignore the progress we are making.

I have been glued to my inbox reading all these notes from people who are just as tired of the stalling as I am. It is wild how much momentum is building even when things feel quiet on the surface because I am spending all my time trying to track down who actually implements these changes at the agency level. Please keep talking about this with anyone who will listen because I am convinced that if we just keep pushing they are not going to be able to ignore us for much longer.

Equality for everyone. Plain and simple.
Glad to see Gansler doing the right thing. Keep moving forward.
Don Dwyer needs to find something better to do with his time. Leave peoples marriages alone already.

So glad to see this happening. My cousins have been married in another state for years and it was always ridiculous that they werent recognized here at home.
