It's difficult to see young girls being treated the same way as the girls trying to okay the game when I was a kid in the 90's. I assumed in the time I had been away from the world of minor hockey that things had been changing for better because that's the way it seemed to be portrayed. I hope there are concrete solutions coming to address the issues still being faced in hockey.

Need resources from manufacturers to create equipment designed specifically for a females body as opposed to having to get as good as they can from a men’s design and fit.

I've had daughters play both co-ed and female hockey, and it is ridiculous how the female teams play second fiddle to the boys programs.

Our daughter is currently playing coed but our hockey association will not allow her to AP to a higher team. U15A Coed is contact and U15AA Female is a different "stream". For safety concerns, she wants to develop with the Female group but our association will not allow a Female to cross streams to the Female Stream. This is still baffling us. Just not willing to progress as as association and stuck in the old mind-set.

My daughter has been playing hockey on teams with boys from the age of 3 until U15. While with U15 as 1 of 2 girls on the team they felt a lot of discrimination from the boys saying hurtful comments about their abilities even though they could skate a lot better than most of the boys.
I am waiting for the day we have a womans NHL and hope my daughter has the chance to play in it.
Waiting to see this for a long time.
