It's ironic that SUP surfing is chastised at San Onofre of all places. It's a longboard surf spot with 90% beginning surfers with no clue of surf etiquette or any real surfing skills. The Sup surfing contingent for the most part has advanced in abilities and riding smaller boards than the majority of longboard surfers. Most have been surfing for many years and have taken up SUP due to physical issues or just because it's MORE FUN. They're being discriminated against while paying the same entry fee to surf there. The non SUP surfers have several good breaks at their disposal and the SUP surfers have 1 and it is the least desirable area in the entire park. This is the only place in Calif where SUP is regulated. All other areas are un regulated and everyone co exists peacefully. It's time to re visit rules that are outdated. Moving the boundary North is the MINIMUM that should be done. Total removal of boundaries is the most practical approach

This makes sense and the area is already being used by SUP's on a regular basis. Free up the north side legally - better yet, let everyone self regulate and keep the lifeguards out of it.

"Mr. Park Superintendent Haydon, tear down this "OK" sign!!" The removal of the historic and political significance of a "separating" wall, verse that of a simple "separating" sign sure seems kind of silly that we were able to accomplish one, yet not the other don't you think? Surf with Aloha...with or without paddle is all that should matter....and get rid of the silly sign. "OK"?

My preference would be to eliminate all SUP boundary limitations.

There should be no SUP regulations at all. This is a step in the right direction.

Great idea .... we can all get along fine if we just respect each other... from a prone surfer.

It is time for the proners to move over and let us surf too.

It's obvious. If you would like to continue a regulated separation in the water you need to do something soon. If you don't move them to include a decent break get rid of the stakes all together.

This approach is the minimum that should be done to expand equal access.
