The Petition of the residents of the Shipley Constituency,

Declares that the Petitioners believe that when Parliament makes decisions affecting only the people of England, or England and Wales then those decisions should be made only by the Members of Parliament elected to represent England, or England and Wales; and

The Petitioners therefore request that the House of Commons creates fairness in the devolution settlement by ensuring decisions having a separate and distinct effect on England, or England and Wales, are decided only by the Members of Parliament elected to represent England, or England and Wales. And the Petitioners remain, etc.

Updates

January 29, 2015

I have spent the last few days meeting with neighbors who are just as tired as I am of seeing our local concerns sidelined. It is clear that the current system is failing us, and I am working hard to ensure our frustrations reach the right desks in Parliament.

January 29, 2015

Seeing this grow has been incredible because I know how much this fairness issue impacts our local community back home. The momentum building gives me real hope that we can finally secure the change our constituency deserves.

There is no way the Scots would allow English MP's to vote on Scottish issues so fair's fair. This ludicrous comment from the SNP that the yshould be allowed to vote if an English issue may affect Scotland is just them trying to have their say in English affairs.

With the Scottish (justifiably) having the ability to determine their own policies and laws, the same rights should be granted to the English.

This is an anomaly that needs to be rectified now particularly with the SNP stating that they will definitely use their votes tactically to affect votes on English issues.

Time to answer the West Lothian question - before the English justifiably start to ask a different question.

It is totally wrong that Scottish MPs should be allowed to vote on English issues while English MPs have no influence on Scottish issues. I am disgusted that this has been allowed to happe. How can this unfairness be allowed

Agree in principle with a little concern of the effect it might have on the Union.

Shipley MP Philip Davies has to be the best there is. Credit should also go to his team.
