Enforce 20 mph speed limit on Pannal Ash Road

Agree with speed limit and ideally discussion on traffic calming in Arthur’s Avenue now too Challenge is that Arthur’s Avenue is being used as a rat run as no traffic calming or other . Noticed higher levels of heavy / large vehicles too Parking around hammerhead / and verges at top of Arthur’s Avenue remains an issue of safety for school drop offs and visibility for drivers A lot of unsafe parking by parents and carers not all but some which doesn’t help keep the neighbourhood on side with wider ( agreement) for maintaining traffic speed restrictions.

I support 20splenty.org in Harrogate and neighbouring towns and villages. Do you agree that 20 should be the default speed on all urban roads? To start with at least, on all school streets. NYCC police policy is to refuse to have speed cameras. Anyone know why?

As a resident of the area as well as my children going to school at Rossett Acre I regularly see the ridiculous speeds some people drive down this road at, a lot fail to adhere to the standard 30mph never mind 20mph!

It has always shocked me that in 10 years walking on Pannal Ash road nearly every day to schools I have never ever seen a speed camera. Never. Despite the egregious ignoring of the speed limit.

We live locally and I've been overtaken twice on Pannal Ash Road in the last 6 months. Dangerous and totally unnecessary

Please enforce speed limits outside all schools.

We need more of these outside schools, not fewer. Reinstate.

This was a sensible policy, it is a shame the signs were removed.

If someone exceeds the Speed Limit by a certain percentage they should be Banned from Driving for Life.

The speed limit should be enforced. Riding a bike on Pannal Ash Road, you always get close passes. I believe this is partly due to the central hatching, that people are reluctant to cross. Proper cycle tracks are needed, with physical protection from motor vehicles.

Cars race by too fast despite the speed bumps. People need to access the road from their drives, just dangerous.

All Harrogate Streets should be 20mph and enforced by speed cameras. This has now been introduced across the whole of London. Plus we need more zebra crossings to slow traffic down and allow pedestrians to cross the road safely: /20 mph, cameras everywhere and zebra crossings.

Stricter measures need to be put in place. The electronic signs were ignored. I think the only people who stick to the speed limit are local residents. I have been overtaken several times by people who don’t want to wait. Speed bumps are annoying but they would force the traffic to slow down. I can only see the problem getting worse when the new houses on Whinney Lane are occupied.

We need this to keep our children safe !!!

These 20mph signs are imperative for signalling to motorists to keep to the correct speed and thus keeping our children safe. Pannal Ash Road is well used by children of all ages attending Rossett Acre primary school, Rossett High School, Harrogate Grammar school and Ashville College. Who made this ridiculous decision to remove them and on what grounds was the decision to remove them made? Not only do we need these reinstalling, we also need 20mph limits implementing on Green Lane by Rossett High school and Ashville college.

The speeding on Pannal Ash Road, Harlow Crescent and Harlow Avenue is nothing short of disgraceful. I worry constantly for my children who now want to walk to and from school on their own. My daughter was nearly run over on Harlow Avenue by a speeding car only a few weeks ago. Please please can you do something to protect our children.

The council need to better enforce the speed limit. There is no excuse for anyone driving above 20mph past schools.

Need cameras. Why don't n yorks change their policy and use technology. A police speedcheck now and again is useless.
