My labs are versatile and athletic. They have amazing structure but would be laughed out if the confirmation ring. We call the breed dogs “kegs on pegs”. Not a good visual.

Breed Labradors look to me like little Hereford cows. Can’t imagine that they could up during to a three or four day agility trial.

Labradors are an awesome breed that are so versatile. The LRC has provided the standard for the breed. If AKC judges cannot judge to the breed standard, then don't judge the breed. There should be consequences for judges who do not adhere to breed standards. Where is the accountability?

Over 6 years ago I started to take over 20 pounds off my dog and she is so much more active and willing to 'go' through her tasks. Be a friend to your dog!!!

This unfortunately isn't restricted to labradors, but is seen in MANY breeds where fat is routinely utilized over lean muscle. It needs to STOP.

Obesity is rampant in Lab conformation. Causes terrible health problems and makes them unable to do field work.

I would love to be involved in showing dogs and I am interested in labradors. I could not keep a personal dog at "show weight" in good conscience! I would love to show a fir labrador!!
