The mission of NDG Project is to transform NDG into the greatest community in the world. As a first step we are looking to end poverty across the neighbourhood. Currently, approximately 25% of the community's 67,475 residents are under the poverty line. Our plan is to petition leaders from all levels of government (Federal, Provincial and Municipal) to develop and implement a Guaranteed Minimum Income (GMI) program for NDG as a first step towards introducing it on a larger scale. Here is an article regarding the Federal Government's plan and what it would cost to implement this nationwide. If we could get our Provincial Government to duplicate this effort, every person on the lower margin of society would be receiving almost $20,000 annually.
