I believe hare coursing should be banned because I do not think wild animals should be used for sport or entertainment. Even when events are regulated, the hare is still chased, frightened, and put under unnecessary stress. I believe no animal should have to experience fear or risk injury simply for a recreational activity.
I also believe there are more humane ways to preserve cultural traditions that do not involve live animals.

The Irish hare is a magnificent animal. It's numbers are dwindling. It is shy and vegetarian . Harms nothing and is a joy to observe but seldom seen. Hare coursing is barbaric and a sad reflection on what we value as a society.
