This is a stupid and archaic tradition that the followers don't even understand. It's an opportunity for hooliganism and crime.

I totally agree, the use of fireworks is just an opportunity to cause harm and chaos in our communities.

As much as Fireworks look pretty, its not worth the trauma my dog has to en-dour. Fireworks shouldnt even be sold anymore, hopefully this will help getting them banned.

I had to sit with my dogs in the house. Other dogs went on most of the night.. we couldnt sleep. Living in mitchells plain.. one is not sure if its fireworks or gunshots.. difficult for police to do there work. Saw kids disrespecting adults by chasing an elderly man with paint... the poor old man had to jump over a vibe into other peoples yard.. what if that people had a pitbull or the owner had a gun???

So many negatives than positives celebrating this tradition.

An utterly senseless day "celebrated" by individuals who clearly DO NOT fully understand the risks for all and sundry. In our water deprived area, it should have had a complete blanket ban in terms of sales of these fire hazards and fear inducing devices for all pets. WAKE UP already!

Innocent animals & children are hurt in the process of this senseless tradition

If people choose to diobey the law and poor, innocent, defenceless animals are affected then I agree that it should be banned- and what a shame- because, fireworks are magical but if certain people cannot and do not set off fireworks in designated areas, too bad- they are harming creatures without a voice. Ban the Bang!
