Older people need to be supported with bone health as many do not have an awareness that this is something they should be improving in older age.

As a DEXA radiographer, seeing the devastating effects of osteoporosis, I feel it's vital that patients have access to FLS in all areas

The management and treatment of the devastating effects of vertebral fractures is not good enough; people are being left with severe kyphosis and disability with virtually no treatment options

Prevention with proactive strategies is preferable rather than continuing with reactive care as the human costs to individuals are so significant.

I am a physiotherapist with a special interest in bone health. I believe there is so much valuable research information which can be shared with the general public. This research will empower people to make better choices about diet and activity. It would be a very proactive health strategy on the part of the government, ultimately saving millions and improving quality of life.

Def support this call. Being a physiotherapist working with older people for more than 15 years, I understand the devastation (isolation, fear of moving/falling/going out, losing independence etc) a fracture can cause for this group. Working in preventing and managing Osteoporosis, we see more and more younger clients (40s) and older clients asking why they haven't been informed early in their lives. So def first fracture is the last but also services to help minimise the number of first fractures.

As a physiotherapist working with elderly people this is an important and relevant issue, particularly in an ageing population

Plymouth almost had a FLS pre covid but plans have stalled. Fracture threshold is reached at a much younger age by women than men. This is an essential service to prevent fractures, improve people's quality of life and of course save the NHS money.
