The drug war has destroyed the lives of millions of Americans, causing much more damage than the drugs it was intended to destroy. It has led to the rise in more dangerous drugs, and has prevented addicts from seeking the help they need. It has lead to substance abuse of medically prescribed drugs that are more dangerous than natural but illegal alternatives. The war has ceased production of hemp based products, killing jobs and forcing us to use more expensive and environmentally unfriendly plastics.

The war on drugs has completely failed. There is not a single victory that can be claimed by this disaster. It was an unconstitutional violation of the 9th amendment, and it needs to be put to an end right now.
