Teach To One (TTO) is a program where students progress at their own pace. It seems good, but it's actually a pretty bad program.

  • In TTO, students do not progress and stay behind. For example, someone I know who finished 6th grade last year, only finished 20% of math. He still got a B+
  • TTO doesn't even care how good you are at math. If you don't even try on exit slips (mini quizzes), you can still get an A. This motivates students to not try.
  • TTO is boring and repetitive. You are stuck on the computer all day bored. Some of us don't even do math, we play games. Math is suppose to be fun, but because of TTO it is now a chore.
  • TTO isn't a better program than a regular classroom, so what's the point? Kids don't enjoy math anymore. You might argue it improves MAP Testing, but a single test doesn't tell you how good a kid is at math.
  • TTO mixes grade levels. This means no matter what you do, it's never gonna be your grade level. It can be lower and higher grade levels. In my opinion, you should just do your grade level work.

In order to solve this problem, you need to remove Teach To One (TTO) and return to regular classrooms.

ive been reading all the comments you guys are posting and its clear im not the only one feeling like we are just staring at screens all day. it helps knowing so many others are frustrated with how math is being handled right now because it honestly feels like we are losing actual learning to this program.

i honestly cant believe how many people feel the same way about this program. seeing everyone chime in about how boring and useless those computers are really proves we arent alone in hating this.

My son loved Math all through elementary school. It was his favorite subject and he excelled in it. Notice the past tense, he hates it now cause if this program. That is a huge problem for him and me. Please get rid of this Math program so my son could love Math again!

I’ve heard too many negative experiences about this program. Why are we allowing a program to continue even for only this year when it has been proven a disservice to students? We need to listen to these families!

I couldn’t agree more. My sons does not like TTO and used to live math. Ditch this horrible experiment now.

TTO does not work for students at any level. My kids are advance math learners and TTO sucked the excitement and motivation about math out of my kids. This year, due to the changes in qualifications, my daughter was able to join the algebra class. She is very happy about it because she gets to learn or apply what she learned everyday. I am asking you to reconsider this program.

Someone whose children had different educations and no rock… I feel the TTO program was an injustice to my sons education. My daughter had amazing math teachers went to high school and college ready… I feel like my son has had three years of a wasted computer time.

Luckily, I was able to opt my child out of this awful program 2 years ago. The district has now realized how horrible this is and this is its final year. But in the meanwhile, students this year are losing more ground and suffering though it. Get rid of it now before you do more damage.
