As the manager of a small business that prints t-shirts, I depend on soldiers at Fort Benning for almost 30% of my sales. The sequestration of the soldiers at Fort Benning could be devastating to my business and lively hood.

Throughout history, we have reduced our military after major wars, only to make adversaries believe we will not be able to defend ourselves from attack. We need to learn from these historical mistakes.

I believe the government should cut their wasteful spending habits as well as cut their outrageous salaries which I believe is a problem in itself. Government itself should be ashamed of itself for putting our brave men and woman of the armed forces in this situation, how about we do this instead, eliminate the corrupt senators, congressman and congresswomans jobs after all they put us in this mess to begin with, eliminate the corrupt irs. I don't see how cutting our armed forces is any type of answer to our problems, cutting government is the answer.

Fort Benning has built a strong infrastructure that is designed to train and house and care for our military families. They need their jobs here, and they have the support of the Columbus and Phenix City communities. Many retiring military come here because Fort Benning and this area offer them a great place to live. Keep Fort Benning strong!

Ft. Benning means so much to Columbus and Phenix City. This area not only appreciates what the post has done for it, the communities welcome the soldiers and their families with special events, pricing and activities. Our family has found that when stationed at other places there is not nearly the civilian businesses and services giving discounts or events. My daughter was born and raised here and when she moved to another post with her husband and children she saw the difference. We appreciate Benning and consider it a part of us.

Cutting our military is not the thing to do during this time of national and global threats. Also, this will not be a good thing for jobs in the Tri-City area of Columbus Fort Benning and Phenix City, AL.

In a time when we are still at war, and we are, cutting the military is the last thing we need to do . The military is what makes America strong. We must defend ourselves and our boarders lest we fall

Millions has been spent to make vital changes to Ft. Benning in the past 10 years. Do not cut where you just spent all this money, what a waste of our tax dollars.
