Please reconsider drawing down troops from Ft. Benning. This base has been rated the #1 U.S. Army base in the world for several years. Columbus, Ga. is a relatively small community that was asked to increase it's public school, medical and housing capacity only 3 or 4 years ago to accommodate BRAC influx of troops. Let us Not Forget that National defense is the priority job of the national government. This can only be assured by maintaining a strong and well prepared military force. We must not allow our need for an everlasting military preparedness to be brushed aside in favor of other political initiatives. It has been demonstrated time and again that Ft. Benning, above all other military installations, has the capability to deliver. Keep Ft. Benning strong!

I have always believed, that in order to keep the many precious freedoms that we have in this marvelous country of ours, we needd to maintain a strong ready military.Over the years, Ft. Benning, the home of the Infantry, Armor, Airborne, and Officer Candidate Schools has always been in the forefront producing the women and men who valiantly keep our nation free.With rising threats to us around the world,The effects of Sequestration, namely a drastic reduction in the troop strength at Ft. Benning seriously threatens our national security. I want to encourage everyone both sign this petition and encourage everone to meet to do the same AND to write your Congressional Senators and Representatives AND TELL THEM NO FURTHER CUTS TO THE TROOPS AT FT. As the threat gets larger, our army gets smaller? That makes absolutely "NO" since at all to me. Constantly downsizing the Armed Forces just give the enemy that much more power. The people in the field making these decisions, whils sitting on their asses getting Fat, need to partake in a war or two. I bet then they will stop targeting the Armed Forces first whenever the GOV have budgeting issues which they create!!

Our military staffing should be determined by the scope of the missions and threats facing the United States, not by an arbitrary budget cut.
