The lack of capability in our halls of congress should not directly impact the everyday lives of American citizens. That Fort Benning should suffer because of inaction, rather than action, tells us much about the values of our elected officials. For the Chattahoochee Valley, we must fight to keep our Fort strong.

I resignedly support keeping out troops on the ground at Ft. Benning and feel that any reduction would be a vote to remove the strength and protection of the citizens of our country!

This is absolutely critical for national defense. Of course it is important to this region economically, but the question is "where will the government stop?"

We do not need a draw down in our country. It puts us at risk of not being prepared to handle hostile military situations. It also, put a strain on our economy locally and nationally.

I honestly believe the draw down will put our country's freedom in jeopardy. Maybe if congressmen and women were willing to take pay cuts for their extremely outrageous salaries then our military can do what they are trained to do~~PROTECT OUR FREEDOM!

Our strong military presence around the world is critical in the preservation of the freedom and quality of life we enjoy in America. Their budget should be increased...not decreased!

Threat levels are rising around the world. Russia. China. Iran. Syria. Afghanistan. North Korea. The Islamic State.
These Army reductions are not strategic. These are forced cuts brought about by Department of Defense budgetary constrictions. Now we face another defense budget cut of some $500 Billion from Sequestration and the consequences of more budget cuts of this magnitude - at this very moment in history - could be catastrophic.
Fort Benning is one of the largest. most technologically-advanced military installations in the world.

The only reason the US has enjoyed the safety on our shores is due to our strong military, take that away and we will be sitting ducks.

The loss of Fort Benning would be catastrophic to this area. Seems like it would make more sense to close smaller bases and continue to utilize Benning's training facilities.
