I am a dependent of a retired soldier, and a mother of an active soldier. We need Ft Benning.

Don't make drastic cuts to defense only to realize within a short time frame that you must rebuild the defense of our nation. By making such cuts, you put our nation at risk and devastate affected communities.

Ft Benning is a vital part of our nation's security and our community. We have just invested substantially in bringing the Maneuver Center on line...a strategically wise and efficient training decision. Now it appears that we are preparing to turn our backs on this investment in people and facilities and we wonder why we cannot balance a national budget? Common sense has to prevail!

Serving the Fort Benning community keeps Columbus, GA business strong. Fort Benning is a superior asset to our U.S. military and to our community. Don't weaken this asset, our community, and our country!

I am retired Army from Ft Benning and am currently a business owner in Columbus. This planned reduction will have a tremendous Negative impact on the city of Columbus and the surrounding area. It does not and has not ever made any sense to invest the kind of funds and resources into a military installation, and turn right around and either give it away or not utilize it. Tax dollars being wasted again.

Fort Benning is one of several large military bases that should be growing in its training mission, rather than trying to sustain its troop level. If sequestration is inevitable; close some of the smaller bases and move the training to Fort Benning; as the Dept. of Defense did several years ago by moving the Armor School from Kentucky to Fort Benning. Now they are training more closely to the way they will actually go to war.

Losing any of our military families would be devestating to our community. Columbus depends on our military families to keep our economy above water. 50% of my business is military. I would probably need to move myself if we lose this many military families

A strong military is a must. This should be a priority of our country and government.

At a time when the threats to our country are dramatically increasing it makes no sense to decrease our ability to defend ourselves

I'm sorry, but our "Commander in Chief", does not have the best interest of the United States in mind. My Spirit tells me that it is a plan to weaken the US to make it easier for his Muslim brothers to get a better foothold here. Just my opinion.
