Another brain wave in Kirklees’ long list of years worth of their ‘brainwaves’ has left them in the position they’re now in

Essential for small businesses and community. Would create even more chaos at school drop off and pick up times

It will harm local shops

Parking is already difficult in Lindley especially with school’s parking. I already avoid shopping in Lindley at this time. If there are charges I will stop coming altogether.

More will be lost in business rates through independent businesses going under than parking charges will ever raise. Will cause traffic and highway issues as parents will not pay to park in the carpark every day. For those who can’t walk

This is penny pinching and how much will it cost to install a machine , signage and keep it serviced?

Parking in small villages like Lindley should remain free although with time restrictions

Lots of older people and those with mobility issues shop in Lindley and free parking is one of the nang reasons!

This will have a disastrous effect on local businesses. It will affect those like the elderly who are not able to walk far and rely on using local shops. People won't just nip to their local any more if they have to pay every time. I'm not convinced it will raise the money the council will hope it will as people will avoid it and it will put a strain on the already overused street parking.

Absolutely ludicrous to even think about it!

Not everyone is able to walk to shopping areas Don’t continue to drive shoppers away from local businesses to the large out of town shopping malls which have free parking

The amount of money raised from charging for parking will surely be negated by some loss of business rates revenue because businesses can’t afford them and close. Kirklees obviously want to continue to turn all shopping areas into ghost towns

If Kirklees hadn't spent stupid money and bankrupt us this would still be free

Please do not do this - it will affect the local shops adversely and drive more people to out of town supermarkets and spoil the village feeling of Lindley

Really bad move to charge for parking here, will affect businesses and local residents. The road side parking is bad enough on Holly Bank Road but this would make it worse, force more people onto street parking.
