Beyond the points made in the email, I am also very concerned about the O2 input impact on attentiveness and general hygiene from moisture around the mask to skin surface area. I am further concerned about the evidence of muscular skeletal malformation due to jaw position that results from children constantly mouth breathing due to masks.

Please make masks optional, it has been made clear they have no true benefit, they can cause other heath issues if not cleaned and maintained. If the fear of lawsuit is the last remaining reason for the diocese to not make it option, then request we sign a waiver, simply done!

China flu is less of a threat to children than accidents or the common flu. The survival rate among American children with confirmed cases is approximately 99.99%; remarkably, recent studies find an even higher survival rate.

I support face mask free especially because:
1) JESUS HAS BEEN HURT. HIS DIVINE PRESENCE IS REAL IN THE HOLY EUCHARIST. When our children assist to the the Holy Sacrifice of Mass once a week and they have a mask on, it's like we don't believe in HIS REAL PRESENCE. If we believe that JESUS IS REALLY PRESENT nobody can get sick during that time. JESUS showed us many times in the Holy Bible how he healed anyone who comes to Him. THERE IS NO WAY TO GET SICK DURING THE HOLY SACRIFICE OF MASS. We are healed spiritual and physical through HIS SACRIFICE.
2) JESUS GETS HURT when someone pulls up their mask after receiving JESUS'S BODY, BLOOD, SOUL and DIVINITY and they do not rinse their hands in water. We see that Priests and Extraordinary Ministries of the Holy Eucharist HAVE TO PUT THEIR FINGERS IN WATER AFTER TOUCHING JESUS IN THE HOLY EUCHARIST. They show total reverence, respect and faithfulness to HIS DIVINE PRESENCE and nobody does this before they pull up their mask. JESUS' PRESENCE IS REAL IN THE HOLY EUCHARIST and we all must realize that wearing masks during the HOLY SACRIFICE OF THE MASS is going to cause a lack of FAITH.
In the early Church when they used to receive the HOLY EUCHARIST and touch JESUS' BODY everyone licked their hands because they knew that JESUS' BODY, SOUL, BLOOD AND DIVINITY WAS PRESENT even in the most tiny microcospical part of the HOLY EUCHARIST.
3) I also agree with all the other reasons that other parents have given for not using masks during school.

Masks are simply an appeal to authority. The science pre-2020 and post 2020 is quite clear that masks are basically worthless against aerosolized respiratory viruses. It is a "we must do something" command from anxious policy makers who have proven they should no longer be involved in making those decisions. The illusion of control has too tight a hold on them.

We appreciate the support and stand in solidarity with the public schools who are fighting similar issues. For transparency to those reading here, this petition is specific to the Birmingham Catholic diocese, which is comprised of 20 diocesan schools in the northern half of Alabama.
