Institutionalisation has never worked for Ireland, only against us. It is no different today with asylum seekers. We need to utilise this manpower for the good of our economy and integrate these families into our Irish communities - in order than our own lives can be more enriched and Ireland can be a proud, progressive nation - with new ideas and innovations.
We cannot afford to wind up in ten years where the UK and US are with isolated communities defined by race and the sort of national dissociation that leads only to anger and hate crime.

This is barbaric and in humane. We can't call ourselves a country that upholds human rights when we treat people like this. We're we not ourselves asylum seekers in America in the past?

All people deserve basic human dignity and direct provision denies it to those who have already suffered in their home countries. It is an unacceptable system.

The direct provision system is a shameful disgrace on our country. It doesn't need ministers to visit direct provision centres to assess the situation. It is intrinsically wrong and cannot be justified in any way. It should be ended without further delay.
