Sign this as a matter of urgency....solidarity with the brave incarcerated people now fighting for their freedom , human rights and dignity...no mainstream political party was going to do it for them...so now they are an absolute inspiration and should all be given immediate freedom of this country in an effort to win back some semblance of humanity.

Direct provision is simply an open prison for people who have not been convicted of any crime. It should never have been introduced and needs to end now. 14 years is 14 years too long!

We, the people who live in Ireland, want an end to the institutionalised accommodation of asylum seekers in Ireland under the system known as Direct Provision. We are asking for an immediate investigation into Direct Provision and a reform of reception conditions. Reform should recognise the role that supportive reception condition can play in an effective application process and should move asylum seekers towards independent living at the earliest opportunity.

I have been waiting many years for protests against the inhumane system of Direct Provision - let us hope the Minister concerned finally listens to the people who have had to live within this system - their human rights have been abused for far too long .
It's an inhumane way to treat people.
A disgrace
