The net fishery for low quality, low value Chum salmon is a ridiculous trade for the extinction of a unique recreational fishery that also creates equal or greater revenue.

I am ABSOLUTELY DISMAYED in DFO's complete lack of understanding what is truly important here.

Signing, even though I truly believe any measure is far too late to save this strain of fish. Too little, too late, in the long tradition of DFO.

When I meet fishermen from other countries, they mourn the loss of steelhead in other historical fishing areas. They remark how we still have our Thompson steelhead. Let’s not become another has-been due to short-sighted inaction.
