The steelhead runs are already depleted enough as they are. They exist in so few rivers and many of those stocks are declining as well. Don't let steelhead be the next species to go extinct.

We need to protect these iconic fish. They used to bring a flood of angler dollars to the Spencer Bridge area, but now the economic angler impact on the area has been reduced to almost nil. There are selective, in river methods to catch the chum salmon that should be used to minimize by-catch of the steelhead.

Been fishing since 1993 in bc the last three years no spring no steelhead I give up on fishing the drift net and commercials got all the fish.It sad to see where this sport is going.Time to sale the boat.

I fished for Thompson Steelhead since 1962 completely catch and release past 20 years- It is tragic that this once great run is nearing extinction- everything that possible possible must be done immediately to protect the few remaining fish. Gill nets kill fish -please stop the Fraser Chum Gill-net fishery in during October and November to allow safe passage for the few remaining Thompson Steelhead.
