End Commercial Drift Net Interception of Thompson Steelhead.

There should be no nets, with so few fish returning to the Fraser every year, how is it still legal. The DFO needs to stop failing us!

Time for DFO to take a hard look at the commercial and native fisheries. We must save the Thompson river Steelhead!

The socio-economic adpect is secondary to the alarming decline of a Canadian Wildlife Species which is Internationally acclaimed as the mightiest Steelhead on the planet, and currently classified as an "Extreme Conservation Concern".

These are the most iconic , and best and strongest fighting Steelhead on the planet! They must be saved!

This run/species of fish must be preserved...

Action must happen NOW. 20% mortality of a Steelhead run classified as an "Extreme Conservation Concern" is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. Let's deal with the factors that we can reverse immediately.

Every Canadian politician and citizen should be ashamed of this outcome and the news media for not being on top of this story. It is time the people in authority got up from behind the meeting desk and did something other than talk about what they could do and hide behind climate change. This process started long before climate change became a player. Also I think as steelheaders we have to take some responsibility and demand earlier closing times. So we are not hurting fish during the cold water times and close to spawning times.

To threaten a species with extinction via by catch is appalling. If a commercial species can't be more adequately targeted then the fishery should be closed.

The fish should come first! They are almost gone, time to any and everything.

I want to help stop the extirpation of another species by DOING something, unlike our provincial and federal governments.
