End Commercial Drift Net Interception of Thompson Steelhead.

Stop the drift net fishery for chum salmon roe and save the critically endangered Steelhead before they are gone for good!!

I think it is a sin that our Governments have not listened to the people too let this decline continue. Please step up and stop this decline in Steelhead.

I’ve fished this majestical place for over 20 years even going so far as to name my son after the river and have constantly caught fish covered in net marks. Those are just the lucky ones that squeezed through.

This should also include late interseption of Thompson springs by net which decimates early steelhead through the river mouth of the Thompson

It's about time that this fishing practice is stopped. I've seen nets strung completely across the river, not allowing any fish to get by.

We need action to save this irreplaceable resource. I hope you care

The Thompson steelhead are on the verge of extinction. Drift net fisheries are an indiscriminate form of harvest, responsible for the destruction of 25% of the run. This fishery must be stopped.

Save the steel

Thompson river steelhead are the greatest steelhead in the world. They must be saved. Their demise form chum drift nets is criminal and must be stopped.

Thompson River steelhead deserve and need every opportuntiy to survive that we can offer. One thing that we have the power to change before it is too late is the regulations on drift nets. Please end commercial drift net interception of these amazing creatures. Joe Janiak

You must do your part to protect these fish before its too late,

The special race of Thompson steelhead deserve better than being intercepted by commercial net fisheries downriver. I fished it in the 90s but no more. Too few fish to consciously fish for them. It is a complete travesty to have so few steelhead estimated to return this year. However, it has been going on for many years...the government fish managers should take more action to reverse this trend.

Stop the netting.

Time is running out for these magnificent creatures. We can save them but we must act now!

These wild creatures are a special part of this world. Aside from being a magical fish...they bring revenue to the area. Once they're gone.... that's it. Hindsight will tell us then we should have acted. Let's do so now!
