Health care should be accessible for everyone in Canada, regardless of citizenship status.

I advocate for this but we do need to prevent this from being abused by baby tourism for future gains

This is such an important issue that I totally support. I work with marginalized women and children who need healthcare as soon as they arrive in Canada. They end up with huge hospital bills which causes immense distress, financial hardship, affects immigration applications and credit scores.

Absolutely agree. So many patients presenting late to prenatal care and harmful effects. Hypothyroidism missed, dating ultrasounds missed, genetic screening windows lost... or worse families forced to go into debt who care deeply about their pregnancy outcomes.

Did you know that Ontario has removed the waiting period all together! The 3-month wait is too great a hardship on those who need medical care prior to being eligible. Please end the 3 month wait period for access to MSP for immigrants and students too.

As a provider of maternity care in this province I find it very unadvanced that the most vulnerable cannot be cared for under the current structure.

As a primary care healthcare provider doing maternity and newborn care, I see these inequities on a daily basis. It has to stop.

It is time to end this policy. It is a huge bureaucratic nightmare for healthcare workers dealing with immigrants, dangerous and morally indefensible.

So true. Often people arrive with significant health needs and the delay can worsen their health. As a healthcare provider who, cares for people without MSP. trying to work in this system also uses a lot of unnescessary time and resources.

As an international student who just arrived in BC, waiting period could cost me a lot of money for any health care service.

I know first-hand that this is a hard transition to Canada as an immigrant to not have guaranteed health coverage
