50+ trains a day x 4 horn noises, dinging bells and suicide announcements are making this beautiful little downtown difficult to live in. Online I see the city council has talked about a Quiet Zone for years, with no changes. This is a priority use for our tax dollars.

I'm a Leucadia resident in favor of packaging the remainder of the crossings up to La Costa to become no-horn crossings.

I live about four blocks from the tracks and when it goes through at night it sounds like it is just outside my door. It always wakes me up and sometimes my toddler who is a sensitive sleeper as it is.

I would love for someone to evaluate the train noise. I get it there is a train and an intersection but, at some point I think we should be qualified just like Oceanside to have a quiet zone. Leucadia Blvd intersection. LOUD! Thanks.

The train horn volume is excessive and disturbing to the all of the residents in the area. It unnecessarily degrades the quality of life here. Let’s find and implement a solution to this problem as soon as we can.

Sleep is interrupted every night. Loud announcements throughout the day in 2 languages. Eight train whistles for the 2 blocks at D and E streets. Then the long repetitions of the street crossing gate bells. Then multiply those noises by the 70-odd trains each night and day.

We can't even continue a conversation in our living room when the train blasting its horn goes by. Get woken up many times through the night with the horns too. When the Santa Fe slowly goes through the crossing and the driver sits on the horn I can go insane. Yes we knew the trains were here when we moved here but the horn blowing just seems to be getting louder, longer and worse. There are some considerate drivers who will lightly toot the horn which is plenty to warn someone on the track then there are the drivers who blow that horn as loud as they can and as long as they possibly can.

We would support quiet zones but ultimately the tracks need to be lowered. More than 100 trains a day and the traffic will only increase with the double tracking.
