Dear Samsung,

Over the past few years the "Galaxy" set of devices has been well known as a dominant in terms of mobile photography. The brand new Galaxy S6 makes another step at bringing to our hands superb quality photos so we know you care about the camera as much as we do. We love taking pictures.

With that said, one of the greatest additions in Android 5 is the ability to shoot pictures with lossless compression, the so called RAW files. This would enable us, the camera enthusiasts, to take full control of the post processing and master the exposure, noise levels etc to get that beautiful shot we imagined.

In theory it sounds as good as it gets, but there is one (big) problem. We need updated camera drivers for this to work. It's quite disappointing that latest Lollipop builds do not feature the enhanced driver and honestly - it feels like we've been left out in the cold. Android 5 has been out for quite some time now and we, the Galaxy users, have been patiently waiting to get our updates. I would really like to ask you to bring us the RAW shooting support because it is supposed to be one of the coolest new things in the awesome Android 5 user experience.

I have sent a formal inquiry to the Samsung software development team to request a technical timeline for the requested camera driver updates. Representatives from two photography blogs have reached out to discuss the limitations of current stock firmware. We are preparing a technical brief to present when we secure a contact within their mobile engineering division.

Implementation of latest software technologies into expensive flagship phones of last two/three years gives the customers the assurance that they won't be abandoned by Samsung during their two year contract. This encourages them to choose for new Samsung flagship phone again. Majority of flagship users won't switch to new models middle of their contract, while they will abandon Samsung if they feel abandoned by Samsung.

Note 4 is not an OLD device. It was launched hardly an year ago. And certainly CAN handle all the LATEST Android goodies. SAMSUNG MUST put it's latest camera in Note 4 with manual features.

Will Samsung force me to opt for an upgrade to a different make? I bought the Note 4 because of the camera.

I would really like the camera 2 api on my galaxy note 4 n910f as i would like the feature and the choice to be able to capture images in raw format please bring this to the note 4 just as you have done with the galaxy s6 rather quickly.

I would love to see the full Camera2 api show up for my Galaxy Note 4. The two features most important to me are shooting in a RAW format (DNG) and shutter speed selection.
