Eltham Town Football Club is an established local sports club and facility, primarily focused around the provision of amateur football for a variety of age groups and abilities. However, the facilities are no longer suitable for the required standard. The Club has subsequently lost hundreds of members over recent years to new grant aided clubs with better facilities. Ongoing maintenance is a constant issue for the Club, and what small revenue is generated is invested straight back into basic repairs, leaving no funds for any significant improvements. The Club is effectively in a state of decline.
In order for the Club to continue to operate at the site, it is vital that significant improvements are made to the facilities. The Club is therefore proposing the following improvements:
- A new Clubhouse (including new changing rooms and a new function room / bar);
- A new under 7s all weather pitch;
- Refurbishment of the existing pitches (including drainage improvements); and
- A new car parking area.
These improvements will be made possible through the provision of 21 new houses on a redundant piece of land in the northeast corner of the site. These homes will fund the improvements which will ensure the future of the Football Club for years to come.
It is anticipated that a full planning application for the proposed improvements will be submitted to the Royal Borough of Greenwich in Spring 2017.

As manager of a team that plays at Eltham Town, this is something that is needed. Let's hope that the club gets the funding it needs. Grass roots football and the community would benefit.
There needs to be clubs like Ethan Town to give young people, especially boys, somewhere to focus their energys, both my sons enjoyed several successful seasons at this club it would be a shame for the local area to lose such a valuable resource.
We've already lost a number of sports clubs in Eltham. If somebody is proposing a regeneration that supports grass roots football, it's our duty to get behind them and support them in their efforts.
Been going down there for years great club with a great history , if you look back Rio Ferdinand started his career there so let's bring this club back to its former glory What an opportunity to put Eltham Town FC back on the map Youth football development grass roots get signing
The Club (Eltham Town)and its facilities have for years been falling behind other clubs in the area ! This is due to other clubs obtaining grants and funding,so with much planning and hopefully luck and your support with might have found a way to put this club back up where it belongs!.
Spent my childhood at this place whether it was family functions, brothers/cousins matches or even my very own matches. Deserves a refurb.

Fantastic club, great for the kids/players/ and the community, we just need a place to come together for changing, meetings, social events and the current ground isn't suitable.
