Getting Elmo to the UK from Nigeria. This petition is dedicated to Elmo, a Congo African Grey parrot who lived with Dawn Plummer for nearly 5 years. Dawn was in Nigeria as a missionary for over 6 years and is from Scotland in the UK. After contacting the UK authorities it seemed possible Elmo would be able to go to Scotland but because of Nigerian law the CITES export permit she needed to take Elmo out of the country has not been granted. Without this CITES export permit, the CITES import permit for the UK cannot be applied for. This means Elmo will need to stay in Nigerian and at the age of 5 said goodbye to the person he has grown to love and has looked after him for as long as he can probably remember. It is hoped that this petition will raise Elmo's profile so something can be done to let the Nigerian authorities grant the permit which is needed. Please LETS BRING ELMO HOME!!!!!!
