TIPS- To Insure Proper Service
Does anyone want to go out to eat and experience the same terrible customer service that one gets while shopping or better yet from fast food restaurants? Because that is all it will be if the tipping policy is taken away.

I have been in the business 27 years,I support my family on my tips. Government needs to worry about bigger concerns. It will crush the restaurant industry. And any government employee should never upset a server ,before they get their meal...seriously ditch this vote.

i'm sorry, but I have been in the restaurant industry for 30 years and have made a living working in fine-dining restaurants. What they are proposing will absolutely cripple the service industry. I'm not understanding the involvement of the government trying to ruin our careers and being our living to a bare minimum. Please, this cannot happen. I will be forced to leave the state!

Not sure if you know,the cost to dine out would be truly expensive to all. And that students who transfer, move, or just need a little income won't be able to get a chance at another restaurant for a few days a week,because of the wage increase and lack of staff. Just to keep the restaurant open

So many of us servers and bartenders have families that depend on tips. Please do not eliminate the CT tip credit.

With tips the workers make a decent wage for the hours they work and the time away from their families at weekends and holidays.

Why is government usually trying to fix something that doesn't need fixing? Leave it alone and improve upon something that's actually broken. Leave the Tip Credit alone!!

I don't feel that this would be good for the restaurant business, for one thing the wait staff would not go out of their way to bring you good service because they are not getting an incentive to give good service. Also restaurants would have to increase their prices to pay the waitstaff and probably buy cheaper food quality so the quality of the service and food would go down and would be the end of the business.

I'm not sure why you have to change something that works fine as is. Lots of people will no longer be working in the restaurant service industry if you take away their incentive to work. They should be rewarded for their individual hard work. I tip the person, not the establishment.

This will be a horrible thing for restauranteurs, as they will not find servers to staff their restaurants because the pay will decrease substantially. This will hurt the economy, as restaurants will start to fail miserably.

If servers don't have any incentive to work hard, the restaurant industry in CT will go down the tubes. People frequent most businesses because of the all around pleasant experience and the servers are a huge part of that.

If we didn't love our job and enjoy what we made we wouldn't still work serving.

Legislature has already cut my pay by not allowing gratuities to be added to large parties. Please don't let them take my house. I pay a mortgage and support a family on my tips not my hourly wages!
