I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people care about our city and I never imagined so many of you would get behind this. We are approaching a big milestone and it would be incredible if you could help push this over the line by sending the link to a few more neighbors today.

I am truly stunned by the momentum this is gaining and I keep reminding myself that this is entirely due to the people who care about our city. It is humbling to see so many of you fighting for the same outcome I only dared to dream of alone.

I have been spending my evenings reading through the stories you all have shared about why our city needs this change. It is honestly overwhelming to see how many people care about the health of our environment as much as I do. You are the reason this conversation is finally starting to gain real traction.

Breaux Mart on Magazine seems to triple bag everything. Some of the Dollar Stores use 1 bag each for each item, no matter how small.
We are a city, an island, surrounded by invaluable water resources. We have an even greater responsibility to keep it plastic free to protect our local environment and our seafood industry.
I'd be more willing to bring reusable bags to stores/markets if I knew that plastic bags were either not an option or more expensive!
OH PLEASE. The plastic bags are multiplying exponentially under my sink because I can't bring myself to throw them away and they can't be recycled in New Orleans.
I am from San Francisco, where plastic bags are now banned. It is time that New Orleans followed suit; the amount of waste generated from copious plastic bag usage is unacceptable, especially at stores like Wal-Mart, where each bag is filled with one or two items.
Anything but more plastic. I've lived in places that have a single-use plastic bag ban and no one misses them. Not even a little bit!
Get rid of plastic bags.

Single plastic use is ridiculous. On average a single use of plastic is used for 12 mins and takes hundreds of years to disintegrate. it’s running our oceans and putting many different species of ocean life at risk for extinction. Please consider this for our future.
