By signing this petition, you will be supporting a concerted effort to repeal the HESI Exit Exam as a determinant of graduation for the Accelerated Option BSN and Veterans BSN programs of 2015 at Florida International University. This petition will be presented to the administration of the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences to ensure that all voices are heard during the up-coming meeting regarding this matter. It is important for us to stand united as a class to resolve this issue!

The administration can no longer pretend we are invisible because the momentum behind this push is undeniable. We are taking this straight to the nursing school leadership now to hold them accountable for this barrier to our graduation.

HESI specific resources was not provided through out the VBSN/AO program, which limited students from gaining certain proficiencies that dealt with the HESI exam. Therefore the HESI exam cannot be used as an absolute criteria in determining the eligibility of all students affected by the mismanagement of program directors.

Kaplan should have been the exit not HESI. We prepared all year long using Kaplan and was not given anything HESI related. The failure rate for HESI in both VBSN/AO programs show that we were not prepared adequately. This is not fair and must be changed.

HESI scores were not properly indicative of graduation readiness. Poor scores reflect lack of preparation for HESI testing strategies rather than lack of knowledge of content alone.

All the FIU student should be helped and guide them, because to many of this students work really hard on the same field full time and also be ready for this type of test. The School should prepare more to any who need help.

When I first started this program administration said we would not be taking a HESI during our orientation because we were the first cohort as an "experimental" group and we would be doing kaplan instead. This year has been beyond difficult and we have been flexible and successful in our course work despite all the obstacles that were thrown to us. Now I find myself with over a 3.6 GPA and will not receive my diploma that I worked so hard for because I did not a pass one test that I was never prepared for. I understand content is the same, however HESI style questions are designed to think more critically and even harder than the NCLEX. I take my education very seriously, and I am not only an FIU alumni, I was also planning to continue my graduate work here at my home school. I never missed a day of clinical or class, I gave my heart to this program and do not agree with this end result. I wish instead of prep u or even kaplan that we would of trained with HESI style questions.

I was doing well in my Kaplan exams. Some of them as high as 97 percentile, but I still didn't pass the HESI.
