this is not the way forward, this would be a back ward step and is already sending out the wrong message to our young players. 360 is not working, holland and england ditching this system years ago !! where is the investment with the under 18 under 16 why is there no sponsorship for these age groups. hockey wales need to be learning from the rugby setup

I thought that an agreement had been made with all the home nations that Grandparentage would not be a qualifying factor! Have you considered that some of your players may be try out for the other 3!

the work I see all the local coaches doing with the juniors and the efforts made by the parents travelling often long distances to take part will be completely undermined by this.

Hockey Wales should be concentrating on addressing the problems with the 360 system before they relax the criteria to be able to play for Wales.

We should be developing the young players in our schools, at the grass roots level so we can have a sustaining crop of Welsh players coming through, not "buying in" players when it suits.

Our youngsters are the grass roots of Welsh hockey. What incentive would they have for all their hard work and travelling on weekends for games if not the chance and opportunity to play for Wales.

This was sometime aggravating even with the current rules when our lads were competing for places in a National squad - this could make it even more challenging for home grown talent.

The priority should be on developing talent of Welsh youngsters at grass roots level. This smacks of "buying on talent" to try to win trophies as opposed to the right thing tp do.....continuing to develop and promote the game for Welsh youngsters. Yes as a small nation we have a smaller pool of people to choose from....its always been the same forcall sports. However this should not be the excuse for reducing the oportunity for current youngsters to develop or denegrate national identity. More investment at grass roots level please

Fully agree with you Adrian. Do we not have enough talent in Wales - Hockey Wales should be engaging with hockey in schools and at Regional level. We should be fully nurturing what we have.

Just goes to show that Hoci Cymru have no confidence in their current crop of players or those comoing through. Is this a selection issue or a coaching one rather than the quality of players?

Our players should be home grown - that will strengthen the standard of hockey throughout Wales!
